Day 1 - Arrive in Istanbul

Meet at the airport and transfer to your hotel. You will receive the room key and the rest of the day is yours to explore Istanbul.

Tonight, attend an orientation meeting with your Tour Guide at approximately 6 PM, followed by dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 2 - Flight to Gaziantep

Embark on an early morning adventure with a transfer to the airport for your flight to Gaziantep, a city in southeast Turkey. Upon arrival, relish some leisure time for lunch in the city center. Dive into the world of art and history with a visit to the Zeugma Mosaic Museum, renowned for its extraordinary mosaic collection. Stroll through the narrow streets of the historical Bey district, indulging in the flavors of Turkish coffee or tea at a popular coffee house. Immerse yourself in the traditions of Gaziantep as you take a guided walk through the historical bazaars, witnessing craftsmen practicing their traditional trade at the Coppersmith Bazaar. Later, check into your room and freshen up before a delightful dinner.

Day 3 - Gaziantep

Embark on a flavorful morning by visiting one of the many baklava shops, indulging in the sweet Turkish confection made of phyllo pastry and nuts. Traverse to the town of Halfeti, located on the east bank of the Euphrates River, and savor lunch at a local restaurant. Engage in a captivating boat excursion along the Euphrates River, offering a close-up view of partially submerged buildings—a poignant reminder of a town affected by the construction of the dam in the 1990s. Continue your journey to the Zeugma Antique City, founded in the Hellenistic period and flourishing under Roman rule. Wander through the ancient streets, marveling at well-preserved statues and structures.

Day 4 - Mardin

Commence your day with a visit to Gobeklitepe, a Neolithic archaeological site showcasing massive carved stones dating back 11,000 years, crafted and arranged by prehistoric people. After an insightful lunch, journey to the city of Mardin. Explore the historic Kasimiye Medresesi, an old seminary complex, and ascend to the upper section for panoramic views of Mardin. Check into your hotel, settling in before indulging in dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 5 - Mardin

Embark on a day of exploration with a visit to the Deyrulzafaran Monastery, dating back to the 5th century and serving as a spiritual center for the Syriac Orthodox Church. Explore the significant Dara Ancient City, an essential Silk Road settlement established in the 5th century. Witness well-preserved ruins, including city walls, gates, and various structures, before enjoying a home-cooked lunch with a local family. Take a guided tour through the Old Town of Mardin, meandering along narrow streets, admiring unique architecture, and discovering Kirklar Church, also known as Forty Martyrs Church

Day 6 - Mardin

Delve into history with a visit to the ancient Mor Gabriel Monastery, a significant Syriac Orthodox monastery. Continue to Midyat for lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a visit to Anitli Virgin Mary’s Monastery and its church. Day 7 - Van

Depart from Mardin in the morning and travel to Hasankeyf, an ancient town along the Tigris River. Check into your hotel and enjoy dinner.

Day 8 - Van

Embark on a captivating tour to Cavustepe, a historic site revealing the remains of an ancient Urartian fortress perched atop a hill, also known as the Fortress of Hayk. Visit the Urartu Hali carpet atelier, where exquisite handmade Anatolian carpets captivate with their colors, patterns, and techniques. Following lunch at a local restaurant, cruise to Akdamar Island in Lake Van, home to the 10th century Armenian Holy Cross Cathedral. Return by boat to Van for a delightful dinner at the hotel.

Day 9 - Kars

Head to the town of Dogubeyazit for lunch, admiring panoramic views of Mount Ararat, considered the resting place of Noah’s Ark. Explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ishak Pasha Palace, dating back to the 17th century and showcasing exemplary Ottoman architecture. Conclude the day with a journey to Kars.

Day 10 - Kars

Embark on a morning drive to the ancient city of Ani, the former capital of the Bagratid Kingdom of Armenia. Explore the medieval city located on a secluded hilltop along the Turkish and Armenian border, featuring ruins such as the Ani Cathedral, medieval walls, and the Citadel. Enjoy a tasting of Reyhan Serbeti, a special non-alcoholic drink, paired with a sampling of local Kars gruyere cheese. Visit Kumbet Mosque and drive by Kars Castle, adorned with imposing walls crowning the ridge that dominates the city’s northern edge. On the drive back to the hotel, view Russian-style buildings dating from the 19th century Russian occupation. Conclude the day with dinner at a regional restaurant.

Day 11 - Istanbul

Today, take a tour of the Old City of Kars and visit the iconic Fethiye Mosque, characterized by its distinctive dome and intricate details. Explore the Kars Museum, featuring exhibits from the early Bronze Age, Urartu and Roman periods. Free time to stroll through the local market. 

Transfer to Kars airport in the afternoon for your flight back to Istanbul. Upon arrival, check into to your hotel. Tonight, celebrate your last night in Turkey with dinner and bid farewell to your group.

Do you have insurance covered?

For international travel, it is mandatory to have travel insurance on all our trips. At a minimum, your insurance coverage should include medical expenses, including emergency repatriation. Residents within the European Union, Switzerland, or the USA are exempt from the compulsory nature of this requirement. However, we strongly recommend that even for those residing in these regions, the purchase of travel insurance is highly advisable.
