Jewish Heritage Tour 7 Days
The Jews have been in Anatolia since ancient times. Visit the antique city of Sardis and see one of the world's oldest existing synagogues. During the Spanish Inquisition, the Ottoman Empire welcomed the Jews to its safe haven. Since 1492 the Jewish community has been deeply rooted in cities like Izmir and Istanbul. We will tour the Jewish neighborhoods and as a bonus visit ancient Ephesus and popular destinations in Istanbul.

Day 1 ISTANBUL
Arrival to Istanbul Airport and transfer to hotel, remainder of day at leisure
Overnight in Istanbul

Day 2 ISTANBUL
Breakfast served at the hotel then on to explore Jewish Heritage while visiting the Galata neighborhood, Neve Shalom Synagogue, Ashkenazy Synagogue, the Balat area, Ahrida Synagogue and the Jewish Hospital in Haskoy. After the tour, return to hotel and evening at leisure
Overnight in Istanbul

Day 3 ISTANBUL-IZMIR
Today visit the other landmarks of Istanbul such as the Blue Mosque, St Sophia, Hippodrome, Grand Bazaar and Topkapi Palace. After the tour, transfer to the airport for evening flight to Izmir. On arrival, transfer to hotel and evening at leisure
Overnight in Izmir

Day 4 IZMIR-SARDIS
After breakfast depart to visit Bikur Halim and Beth Israel Synagogues then drive to Sardis, capital of Ancient Lydia. Visit the famous Synagogue and Temple of Diana before heading on to Kusadasi with the evening at leisure
Overnight in Selcuk or Kusadasi

Day 5 EPHESUS-ISTANBUL
Today explore the Ancient City of Ephesus on this full day tour. Tour also includes visits to the House of Virgin Mary, Church of St John and Temple or Artemis
End of tour and transfer to Izmir Airport for return flight to Istanbul
Overnight in Istanbul

Day 6 ISTANBUL
Free day at leisure to relax or explore further on your own
Overnight in Istanbul

Day 7 DEPARTURE
Transfer to the Istanbul Airport for your return international flight
